For the first time in the history of the Philippines, a Supreme Court Chief Justice is facing an impeachment trial.
Chief Justice Renato Corona faces senator-judges during the first day of the trial Monday. Prosecutors had filed 8 complaints against the Chief Justice, including Corona’s alleged bias for former President Gloria Arroyo and graft and corruption charges. Corona has vehemently denied all allegations.

wow. okay! so tell me, what's the public opinion from the media side? what are they getting from the people about the trial so far? =) i'm just hearing the side of law students from UP mostly eh hehe
ReplyDeleteros, mixed comments. Some are in favor of impeachment, some are against it. Can't really tell ano mas malakas na sentiment. On a day to day basis, it changes depending on the performance of the prosecution and defense. :)
