Bong

I arrived at the New Bacolod-Silay Airport just in the nick of time. About 5 minutes after I checked in, it was already boarding time. Good thing I was in Bacolod. If that happened in Manila, airport officials probably will refuse to allow me to check in.

I arrived in Manila around 7am, sleepy and a bit tired. I just wanted to rest inside the taxi. But that didn't happen. The taxi driver was very talkative. He talked about his life and just about everything. Aside from being a taxi driver, Bong is an embalmer. He would tell me he is on-call all the time. He would just go to funeral homes if they need him. He's planning to work in Australia as an embalmer by the end of the year.

That's not the only interesting part. Bong is also a former stuntman. He did stunts for veteran actors- both the lead stars and the kontrabidas. He would jump during explosion scenes or drive a car upside down or be a robber in a bank robbery scene. This was in the 1980's at the height of Pinoy action movies.

Bong has 7 children- all girls. Even if he is only a taxi driver, all his children are in school, from grade school to college. He also told me his dream is to help children of Payatas. He also told me how he dislike drivers who fool passengers by hacking the metro. He also told me that people must smile often.

He told me a lot of stuff, I just forgot some. I'm just typing non-stop now because I might forget this tomorrow. In the end, it was indeed an interesting ride.

16 Hours to go

I was contemplating for several months if I should go home to Bacolod or not. There was no real need naman kasi, it's just that I haven't gone home for over 5 months now. So just today I bought a ticket to Bacolod for tomorrow!! It's a good thing there are still available tickets less than 24 hours before the trip (not to mention the fare is still cheap).

So there, I'm going home for 3days!! I'm so excited to have this very short break. Thanks to AirPhil Express (parang sponsor) :-)

World Expo

I have been wanting to go to the 2010 World Expo in Shanghai since the beginning of this year. I have also wanted to go to the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, but it didn't materialize because of high costs. And because of that, I kept my eye on the World Expo, so that at least one dream can be fulfilled.

Cebu Pacific announced so many promos to China, but I never bought the ticket since I was thinking of costs. At one point, I was already willing to buy one, but the promo fares are gone. So I told myself, I won't be going anymore. I also thought of Philippine Airlines, but its promo fare is still quite expensive for me.

And then came Cebu Pacific's 50% Sale. At the last day of the promo period, I immediately bought one. And it wasn't that cheap compared to earlier promos, but it was affordable compared to normal rates. So there, I'm going to Shanghai, China on the last week of the 2010 World Expo! And I'm going alone. It will be another fun and liberating experience for me. I did it in Singapore and Italy, and now it's China time!

But of course, anyone who wants to join me is most welcome!

520

I have 520 friends/followers each on Facebook and Twitter. It's nothing big, but I'm amaze it breached the 500-mark. My Facebook is mostly people I know personally, while my Twitter is mostly people I don't know.

And I still have nearly a hundred friend requests on Facebook. And it seems my Twitter is growing too. I don't have much social life because of work, but at least I have a healthy social life online, after all it is social networking.

Life is different now. It seems social networking sites are needed. When I opened my Friendster account in 2003, I just opened it just because. I was really never active. In fact, I think I only have 100+ friends there until now. But now that I'm working in media and because I haven't seen many of my friends, these sites have helped link that bond somehow. I don't know what's next, But it's surely gonna be exciting.

New Look 2

I spent hours to edit this new look. I didn't like the previous template and I had to look for a new one. Hence, this is it. I still have to figure out some parts. Anyways, photos on the top are photos of places I have been to and I want to share with you. You can chat with me on the Chat box on the left side. You can also follow my social-networking sites such as Twitter and You Tube. Just click the menu above the photos.

So that's it.
Hope this will be the start of a better blogging year.

Just realized it's September 1, perfect time to restart something. :-)
