bombed

This week has been a different week so far. Ms. Francis, my boss, was out this entire week. She went to the US for a mini vacation. It actually feels different now that she's not at the office. But anyway, work is work, with or without the boss.

This week I really felt that I need to talk to our HR person regarding my work. Since Day 1 of my work, I felt I was "downgraded" in my first shift (I do have 2 shifts at work- afternoon shift and evening shift). I like my evening shift better since I write the news and transcribe interviews and I do have longer breaks too. But as for my afternoon shift, I feel I am underemployed. My job is nakaka bobo. I just deliver scripts. I mean, my mind is not working at all! I don't think I am learning any skill that I can use in the future. Ok, so maybe being in that position helped me be aware of the job from below. Truly, I have learned the ins and outs of the newsroom from that perspective. But I'm working for 2 months already and I think I deserve to be place in another better job that is not nakaka bobo. I didn't graduate Ateneo just so I can be a runner (the term they use for that kind of work). In short, I do not feel I am growing. And I really want to shift to another line of work. I mean, I will not ask for a raise or for a higher position. I'm fine in being a PA, pero wag naman sana runner (there are many variety of PA). Pero till now, Hindi ko masabi sa HR person, my friends tell me na maaga pa daw para magsabi noon. Wait for 6 months daw. What!!!! 6 months of pagtitiis... ewan ko na lang.

This week I also experienced my 2nd breaking news. At around 8:15pm, the Congress was bombed. So the entire newsroom was alive. I had to transcribe phone patch interviews among other things. At first only 1 died, then the number increased as the night progresses. I arrived home around 1 am already. So this is what news feels like?
